2025 Practice Committee Conference

The Use of Contracts to Avoid Disputes in Scientific Research Projects

konference

Well-drafted and carefully negotiated agreements can help avoid disputes in scientific research projects. The Conference will address this topic from both legal and practical perspectives – a recurring issue in academic collaborations.

The program also includes insights into how mediation and other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms can be used to resolve disagreements, and how such tools can be integrated into the contractual framework from the outset. These approaches will be discussed not only in theory, but also in light of real-world challenges faced by researchers and institutions.

Topics include:

  • Authorship agreements – when they are needed, what they should contain, and how they are managed.
  • Ownership and IP rights – common pitfalls and how to avoid them.
  • Dispute resolution – how mediation and arbitration can be integrated into contracts and serve as alternatives to litigation.

Refreshments will be served, and the event adjourns with snacks and networking.

Registration

The conference is open to all interested parties and is free of charge.
